NEET VS AIIMS:
NEET 2015 exam
5,79,707 candidates registered for the AIPMT 2014 exam, out of which 5,23,701 aspirants actually took the exam. 46,271 candidates were able to clear it, out of which 18,115 students were considered eligible for 15% all-India quota seats in all the medical or dental colleges of India.
Competency Level: About 8.8% students who took AIPMT 2014 exam were able to clear it and secure a seat in one of the medical colleges.
AIIMS 2015 exam
The scope of AIIMS exam is much lesser. About 1 lakh students appeared for AIIMS MBBS 2014 entrance exam through offline and online mode for 672 seats in 7 AIIMS-like institutions across India (including 72 MBBS seats in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi). The other institutes in which students who cleared the AIIMS 2014 exam got admission were new AIIMS in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh – which had 100 MBBS seats each.
Competency Level: Only about 0.67 % students who took AIIMS 2014 exam were able to clear it. Since the seats are very limited, this exam is a lot more competitive than the NEET/AIPMT exam. You havve to be in the top 0.67% to get a seat!
