September is already here which means Halloween is just around the corner. Nowadays, there is more choice than ever when it comes to picking out Halloween costumes for your kids. With so many different characters and themes to choose from, I’ve put together the five most popular styles for kids this year:
5. Frozen
Even though Disney’s Frozen first came out in cinemas in 2013, it remains a firm favourite among children of all ages. With the release of Frozen Fever last year and Frozen 2 coming out in a couple of years’ time, it seems like the Frozen phenomenon isn’t going away any time soon!
The main Frozen costumes are Elsa and Anna. As the two characters are sisters in the film, these make a great duo for siblings to match their outfits and make adorable “Trick or Treat” partners. Be warned though, these costumes are likely to sell out well in advance of Halloween, so get yours quickly to avoid disappointment!
Since not everybody can be Elsa and Anna, Olaf the snowman is another top option for your kids this Halloween. This is a simple costume to put on and will keep your child warm in cold weather yet breathes well for warmer climates.
4. Minions
Kids love Minions. Parents love Minions. Everybody loves Minions! The best thing about dressing up as a Minion is that there are literally millions of Minions in the films, so there’s no need to worry about them getting annoyed if they encounter someone else who is in a similar outfit. You can personalise your kids’ Minion costumes to their hearts’ content, making them unique but also uniformed.
3. Star Wars
Just like everyone else, children absolutely adore Star Wars. Kids love to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters because there are so many cool outfit ideas to choose from. Classic characters like Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca and Princess Leia have all helped make Star Wars a great Halloween costume selection down through the years, while new heroes and villains like Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren mean that there’s more variety now than ever!
2. Superheroes
Halloween just wouldn’t be the same without seeing an army of superheroes running around. From DC’s Batman and Superman to Marvel’s Spider-man, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk, all kids love to be their favorite superhero for Halloween. With a whole bunch of great blockbuster superhero movies hitting the cinema screens every year, there are more superheroes to choose from than ever. Sure Batman and Spider-man are ever present favourites, but if your kid really wants to stand out, why not go for someone a little more ‘out there’ like Ant Man or Doctor Strange?

On the surface of things, Paw Patrol may seem strange – it is after all, a television programme about dogs who fight crime and put out fires – but there can be no denying that kids absolutely adore the show. With that in mind, Paw Patrol costumes are one of the most sought after Halloween outfit ideas for younger kids this year. While the idea of children dressed as dogs dressed as fire men is a bit ‘out there’, kids have completely embraced the strangeness of it all!
